I Live Below "The Line"

When I lived in Austin, I noticed that there was this magic line under which wintery weather would never cross. Whenever a blue norther would blow in and there was a chance for freezing rain or snow, it almost always seemed to stop at this magic line halfway between Waco and Austin.

Since I've moved to North Carolina, I've noticed a similar kind of line. In this case, it seems to always be the state border between Virginia and North Carolina. This weekend, the east got socked with this incredible snow event: 26 inches in NYC, 8 inches in Washington, D.C.

We didn't get a single flake. Not one single flake.

Sigh.
